A R Rahman, after his hollywood success with "slumdog millionaire" is composing for 8 films this year including one Hollywood flick "Couples Retreat". This film marks his Hollywood debut and music to this movie is totally different from what A R Rahman has been composing for Indian movies. It contains 15 soundtracks, and all soundtracks including the background score makes good listening. The movie is to be released in January 2010 in south Asia and the soundtrack is availible for buying from November 2009 onward. Delhi 6, Blue, passage(short film), Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya (audio release scheduled on 18 December), Puli, Nair San, The Desire are among the other films he is composing this year.
YuvanShankar Raja has Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum, Siva Manasula Sakthi, Sarvam, Vaamanan, Muthirai, Oy!, Yogi and Paiyya to his credit for composing this year. The soundtracks released so far are massive hits. Lets hope that the upcoming is also as good as the previous.
James Vasanthan is a composer who has extraordinary talent. Songs to his upcoming films Naanayam, yaathumagi and Kavalar Kudiyiruppu are beyond words. A MUST LISTEN for all music lovers. The song "Appan Policeda" is sure to be a massive hit among the youth.
Illayraja is a composer who needs no introduction. "Paa" music is greatly welcomed in the hindi film industry and especially the song Mere paa, to which Amitab bachan has sung, leaves the listeners in awe.
Harris Jayaraj's music for Ayan and Aadavan are already a great hit. Information about his other music albums to be released in 2009 are unknown at the moment.
